A little clarity
FAQ
A few answers to help you feel more familiar with what getting started can look like.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
You do not need a diagnosis or a perfect reason to begin. If something feels heavy, stuck, or hard to carry alone, a conversation can be a useful place to start.
What happens in the first session?
We will talk about what brings you in, what you hope will feel different, and what support might look like. You can ask questions, too. You do not have to tell your whole story at once.
How long are sessions?
Sessions are typically about 50 minutes. We can talk through the details when we connect.
How often will we meet?
Many people begin weekly or every other week. We will find a rhythm that fits your needs, goals, and capacity.
Do you work with adolescents?
Yes. Faith works with adolescents age 13 and older, as well as adults.
Do you see couples?
Yes. Couples can make space for honest conversation, repair, and a more connected way forward.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Telehealth is how all sessions are held: online through a secure video platform for clients throughout Virginia. See the telehealth page for practical details.
What if I'm not sure what to talk about?
That is okay. We can begin with what feels most present right now. You do not need to prepare the right words.
Is what I share confidential?
Your privacy matters. Faith will explain confidentiality and its limits when you begin, including the situations where the law requires information to be shared for safety.
How do I use my insurance?
You can check your plan and estimated session cost through Headway before booking. Visit Insurance & Fees for the current plan list and other cost questions.
What if I need to cancel?
Please reach out as soon as you know you need to change an appointment. The current cancellation window is listed on Insurance & Fees once confirmed.
What if I'm in crisis?
This website and Faith’s practice are not emergency services. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. For support, visit Emergency/Crisis Resources.
