If you are navigating a difficult season, feeling overwhelmed, or unsure of what to do next, you do not have to figure it out alone.
I'm Faith Williams, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia and the founder of The Place for Renewal. I have worked in the mental health field since 2020 and earned my Master of Science in Education in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Old Dominion University. My experience includes working with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating a range of mental health concerns and life experiences.
I created The Place for Renewal because I believe you deserve a space where you can come as you are—without judgment, pressure, or the feeling that you have to have everything figured out. My vision is to help you take the next step through difficult seasons, reconnect with yourself, and experience restoration, renewal, and transformation from the inside out.
I use a client-centered, trauma-informed approach to counseling. I incorporate evidence-based strategies, including cognitive behavioral techniques and mindfulness-based interventions, while recognizing that effective counseling begins with truly seeing and hearing you.
Our work together may consider the mental, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual dimensions of your well-being. I also honor your individual story, values, culture, and lived experience. My goal is to create a counseling environment where you feel safe, respected, understood, and empowered to participate in your own healing and growth.
Through The Place for Renewal's I&O Framework—Insight & Ownership, I will help you better understand yourself and identify the choices and changes within your control. The goal is not simply to help you get through a difficult season. It is to help you develop the insight, tools, and confidence to move forward differently.
Healing does not always happen all at once. Sometimes it begins with one conversation, one realization, or the courage to take the next step.
Creativity is an important part of who I am. I enjoy singing, painting, exploring music, and traveling abroad. Experiencing different cultures and landscapes inspires me and deepens my appreciation for each person's unique story.
These interests also influence the way I connect with clients. I believe growth does not look the same for everyone, and I enjoy finding meaningful and creative ways to make the counseling process engaging, personal, and supportive.
Above all, I am passionate about helping you recognize that difficult seasons do not have to define your entire story.
There can be restoration after brokenness, hope in the middle of uncertainty, and renewal after seasons that leave you feeling depleted.

At The Place for Renewal, our approach is grounded in I&O: Insight & Ownership. This framework connects what is happening within you to the choices and changes you make in everyday life.
Insight begins with slowing down and looking within. Together, we explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, patterns, relationships, and beliefs so you can better understand what shapes how you see yourself and the world around you.
Ownership is about deciding how you want to respond and move forward. As you gain a clearer understanding of your inner world, you can identify what is within your control and make intentional choices that support your well-being. Ownership does not mean blaming yourself for what has happened. It means recognizing your ability to respond, choose, and take meaningful action in the present.
As insight deepens, ownership helps you put that awareness into practice. These changes can begin to show up in your behaviors, relationships, decisions, boundaries, communication, and daily life.
Together, Insight & Ownership create a path from awareness to action. Through this process, you can renew your mind, reshape how you respond to life, and cultivate greater wholeness, purpose, and alignment—one intentional step at a time.
